Christmas at Durango Mountain Resort
In Durango, we woke up up to 8 inches of snow over the weekend and the forecasters say it’s supposed to keep dumping all week long! So far, Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort has received over 6 inches in the last 24 hours and over 11 inches in the last 48 hours! While La Niña has left us a bit drier than normal, you can rest assured that the snow is only a matter of “when,” not “if” in the Southern Rockies! Right now, we are looking at snow for pretty much the entire next week in the Durango Mountain Resort area forecast and we are all looking forward to a white Christmas!
Most of Colorado is expected to enjoy average to a bit below average snow this year due to the cooling of oceanic temperatures but, for the most part, expectations for Colorado snow remain optimistic.
