Take this unique trip to the historic mining town of Silverton, CO on one of America's oldest forms of transportation - aboard a coal fired steam train! On this trip, you will enjoy the sights and sounds of the beautiful San Juan Mountains, much as you would have seen them over 100 years ago. Ride the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge one way to Silverton, spend the night and then return by train the following day to Durango.

 

This one-night package offers a unique trip to the historic mining town of Silverton, CO aboard one of America's oldest forms of transportation - a historic coal fired steam train! On this trip, you will enjoy the sights and sounds of the beautiful San Juan Mountains, much as you would have seen them over 100 years ago.

 

This unique package will take you by train from Durango to Silverton where you will spend the night at one of our great Silverton lodging options. While in Silverton, consider making more of your trip with a gold mine tour, a scenic 4-wheel drive tour to the old ghost towns and mining camps, or simply stroll the streets of a historic Colorado mining town for some great food and shopping. The next day, finish your journey with a return by train to Durango. Didn't get enough? Add an optional night in Durango on the second day to take it all in!
