The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad winds through spectacular & breathtaking canyons in the remote wilderness of the two-million acre San Juan National Forest for an unforgettable year round adventure.

The Durango Train's summer excursions are approximately 3 1/2 hours each way by train and departs daily out of Durango in the morning and returns from Silverton back to Durango in the afternoon. The train schedule varies depending on the date with up to 3 trains departing daily. You can also upgrade to a Bus Up or Bus Return option which will shorten your total day trip. You can also view a printable version of the Durango & Silverton Train Route Map.
In winter, the train runs the abbreviated Cascade Canyon Winter Train excursion which runs from Durango, CO to the Cascade Canyon daily. This winter excursion is approximately 2 hours each way with a 1 hour layover as the train turns around at the Cascade wye.

Passengers will enjoy a train ride to Cascade Canyon, followed by a traditional Irish dinner at the The Palace Restaurant.
The fares in these designated cars will include complimentary non-alcoholic beverages; live Irish music by the Kitchen Jam Band; Irish history talks with local author and historian, Duane Smith; and upon return to Durango, a traditional Irish dinner. The train departs Durango for Cascade Canyon at 10:00 am and returns to Durango at 3:00 pm. An early dinner will be served at The Palace Restaurant at 4:30 pm, where the live music will continue.

Cancellation
Cancellations require 5 days notice prior to trip date and will be charged $15.75 cancellation fee per adult ticket and $7.75 per child ticket. Cancellations within 5 days are nonrefundable. Changes may be made for $7.75 per ticket.

The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad winds through spectacular & breathtaking canyons in the remote wilderness of the two-million acre San Juan National Forest for an unforgettable year round adventure.
With the regular fare you may choose seating in either the Open Air Gondola or Closed Coach Car. You can also enjoy Deluxe Class fares including the San Juan and Rio Grande cars (12 yrs +) that boast spacious and upgraded seating. You can also upgrade to First Class and Presidential Class fares (21 yrs +) which include private viewing decks, adult accommodations and complimentary non-alcoholic beverages with a full cash-bar service. For a once in a lifetime experience, you can also charter an elegant 1880's coach. These classic vintage cars will be pulled behind one of our regularly scheduled trains for a very special experience. All Private Cars are rented exclusively to the booking party. Each car is connected to the end of the train and there is no walk-through traffic. These cars are chartered based on availability of the specific car and train availability. Be sure to visit the Durango Museum and the Silverton Freight Museum, both included in the price of the ticket. Note: Children under 4 are free if seated on an adult's lap but if an additional seat is required, please purchase a child's ticket.
