Hermosa Tours can cater a day of riding to your family's skill level on the numerous mountain bike trails and dirt roads in the San Juan Mountains. Tours last anywhere between 2 and 5 hours; depending on your family's ability and schedule.

Have you always been interested to try your hand at mountain biking, but been a little intimidated? Hey, we get it. Everyone has to start somewhere – why not start with our friendly, low-pressure course: Intro to Mountain Biking


The Course


Part one of the course focuses on the basics to get you acquainted with mountain biking: the bike itself, proper gear, shifting, braking and the importance of riding position and balance. After the initial overview, we'll spend the rest of the session practicing some of these points on various obstacles and riding scenarios.


Next we put what we learned into practice! After a quick review of some of our learned techniques, we hit the beginner loop at Durango Mountain Resort. This loop will give us the ability to practice all the elements of basic mountain biking. This isn't a race; we'll be stopping frequently to provide one on one instruction and do our best to master each obstacle. The course lasts between 4 and 5 hours.

From downtown Durango, drive north on Main Ave out of town approximate 1.5 miles. Hermosa Tours is the building just north of the Iron Horse Inn on the right hand side.

Cancellation
Hermosa Tours wants you to have some flexibility should your vacation need to be canceled. The best way to achieve this is by purchasing travel/vacation insurance. We strongly suggest this option. If you choose not to purchase this insurance, please understand that our cancellation policy is meant to give you some alternatives should your plans change, while also protecting the integrity of our business from last minute cancellations.
Cancellations prior to 60 days of the tour will be refunded all moneys paid less a $25 handling fee per person. Cancellations between 30 and 60 days before the tour will forfeit their deposit. Cancellations less than 30 days before the tour will forfeit the full price of the tour.

Hermosa Tours reserves the right to cancel or reroute any tour due to acts of nature, trail conditions, insufficient number of participants or unforeseen circumstances that would hinder our ability to run a trip. If Hermosa Tours is unable to provide you with another trip that is satisfactory, all moneys paid will be refunded and shall constitute full settlement with you. Hermosa Tours is not responsible for any additional expenses that may be incurred by a guest in relation to a cancelled tour including costs incurred due to travel delays, flight cancellations, sickness and non-refundable air tickets and/or any penalties associated with such tickets.

Deposit
Upon booking a tour with us, a 25% deposit is due for each member of your party. Deposits must be received within 5 business days for your place to be reserved on your desired tour. Hermosa Tours accepts credit cards, checks, money orders and cashier's checks. Personal checks must first clear before reservation is final.
The remaining balance (75%) is due for all members of your party no later than 60 days prior to your scheduled tour date.
