Spend the day on a hiking trail in scenic Southwest Colorado with llamas carrying lunch and all the gear or paddle around in a kickboat on a gorgeous, blue high mountain lake.

Andrews Lake Guided Fishing Trip

Drive to gorgeous mountain lake located near Molas Pass (10,000 feet). Fly fish or lure fish from individual rafts (kick boats) for rainbow trout.

Drop Camps - Additional Pack Llama (60lbs max each) - Wilderness Excursions and Camping

This is to schedule an additional pack animal (llama) for each additional 60lbs worth of gear for your Drop Camp booking.


This system is designed for people who wish to get out into the backcountry for more than one day. HMA will load up the llamas with all your gear and supplies, hike you into your base camp, drop you off and pick you up when you desire. It is an excellent way to visit the back country for fishing, photography, day hikes from base camp, or just relaxing in the wilderness. Your length of stay depends upon your time and desire.


Price is $400 for guide (round-trip) and $90 per animal (limit 60lbs per llama). Additional transportation costs may apply depending on distance and special requests.

One example of a drop camp:


3 hour hike to Upper Animas River - A base camp there allows fishing and hiking on the Animas River, Cascade Creek and Lime Creek. Best in late June through September.








Electra Lake - Guided Boat Fishing Trip

Flyfishing or lure fishing from boat on beautiful, private mountain lake. Enjoy the high country of the San Juan mountains and incredible fishing for various species of trout.

Ice Lake - Guided Fishing Trip

This magnificent country sets just northwest of Silverton. This hike with llamas is a bit strenuous but worth the effort! Reaching the lake is like being on top of the world; there are many spectacular peaks just under 14,000 feet. Fly fish or lure fish from the shore for trout.


Please be aware that this is a strenuous hike that requires physical fitness and high altitude acclimation.


Hiking shoes, warm clothing, rain gear and current fishing license required.

*It is important to be acclimated to the elevation before attempting this trip (at least 48 hours).

This magnificent country sets just northwest of Silverton. This hike is strenuous but worth the effort! Reaching the lake is like being on top of the world; there are many spectacular peaks just under 14,000 feet. This panoramic hike with llamas is perfect for painting, photography, and/or admiring the scenery.

Pine River Guided Fly-Fishing

Easy two-hour hike (one way) with llamas into Weminuche Wilderness for fly-fishing on the Pine River. Beautiful scenery and fun fishing experience.


Please Note: We can only really facilitate guiding 2 fishermen at a time so this trip is best for 2 people. We can faciliate more than 2 but cannot guide all of them so additional people that would like to join for a beautiful day in the wilderness while the others are off fishing are welcome at an additional $25 per person.

Vallecito Lake Guided Fishing Trip

Vallecito Lake is located 45 minutes east of Durango at 8,000 feet. This lake fishes best for pike and trout in early season (April and May) and late season (September and October). Fish from boat.

Cancellation
If you need to cancel 20 days or more before your scheduled trip, you'll receive a full refund. If you cancel 19 days (or less) before your trip, there will be no refund, BUT you can reschedule within the one year time. To avoid any problems with cancellations, please be sure to put them in writing by mail, or by phone.
If High Mountain Anglers has to cancel a trip for any reason, you will receive a 100 % refund.
Deposit
Reservations within one week of the scheduled trip must be paid with cash, cashier or traveler's check.
50% deposits must be made for trips scheduled for more than a week in advance and should be in the form of personal, travelers or cashiers' checks. These checks will be cashed immediately.
