Our Lower Animas Raft Trips through town stand alone or are packaged with the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, Zipline tours with Full Blast Adventures or with our own fleet of rental bikes on the Animas River Trail.
Class IV-V raft trips are available on the World Class Upper Animas and Piedra Rivers.

Piedra Lower Box Trip 1 of 1 - 9:00am Departure from Piedra River Store
A Great One Day Class IV Big Drop Trip. This sparkling waterway 36 miles east of Durango is currently under consideration for inclusion into the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System. The surrounding forests are filled with trophy mule deer, elk, black bear, the endangered peregrine falcon, eagles and the playful river otter. The Lower Box is a 12-mile section. The Piedra is small but quite lively. It is not as difficult as the Upper Animas but this is still a trip for experienced boaters because of the steep drops, cold water and isolation of the box canyon. Ages 14 and up. Lunch is provided.

The Piedra River 36 miles east of Durango is being considered for Wild & Scenic designation. Raft through beautiful high mountain meadows and finish your day with two Class III - IV- rapids in the middle of an incredible box canyon. A full day scenic wilderness adventure the whole family can participate in. Ages 12 and up. Lunch is included.
Rockwood Gorge One Day Upper Animas Trip
The Upper Animas River below the Tacoma take-out is a little-known gem usually reserved for hardcore kayakers. Arguably one of the most beautiful and uniques stretched of river in the US with plenty of Class IV drops and two Class V rapids. In mid-summer, with the water volume decreasing, we take paddle rafts down through the Rockwood Gorge with expert guides and experienced rafters. If you've already done the tourist thing on other rivers, step up to the Gorge for a thrill!
Three Day Upper Animas Trip
A 3-day trip is available where we layover in Needleton, a beautiful and remote section of the Weminuche Wilderness. This extra day allows you time to hike, explore, fish or just relax in the largest wilderness area in Colorado. Minimum of 6 rafters required to complete trip and guests must be at least 16 years of age. Becuase this is a high adventure trip, guests need to arrive at Mountain Water's by 5pm the night before their raft trip and will need to complete a "fitness test" in order to ensure level of ability.

There are no refunds issued on reservations cancelled less than 48 hours of your reserved date.
