The San Juan Ski Company provides backcountry powder skiing in the rugged and remote San Juan National Forest of Southwestern Colorado. Advanced and expert skiers can explore this fabulous terrain with the San Juan Ski Company. Based at Purgatory/Durango Mountain Ski Resort, we are only 30 minutes from Silverton Mountain Ski Area and 2 hours from both Telluride and Wolf Creek Ski Resorts.

San Juan's guide to client is 1:4. This trip requires a mininium of of 2 to run this trip. Includes backcountry skis, skins, poles, avalanche probe, avalanche transceiver, shovel and snowmobile ride into skinning terrain. For this trip San Juan does NOT provide ski boots, day pack, or lunch.

Snowcat Skiing - Individual Seat ~
With 35,000 acres of breathtaking terrain in the heart of the West San Juan Mountains, The San Juan Ski Company is Colorado's largest Cat Skiing operation. Escorted by our experienced guides, guests each day can expect to ski 8 to 12 runs and 8,000 to 12,000 vertical feet of untracked powder in the bowls, chutes, ridges, glades and treed slopes that comprises the biggest operating area in the industry. Snowfall totals range between 20 and 30 feet each season. Elevations in our permit area vary from 8,800 at Durango Mountain Resorts base to 12,500 feet at the summit of Greyrock Peak.

- Cancellation
- If you cancel your reservation outside of 14 days you will forfeit a $50 handling fee per seat reserved. If you cancel within 14 days, you will lose 50% of the cost of the trip. If you cancel within 3 days, you will lose 100% of the cost of the trip.
- Deposit
- We require a major credit card to guarantee all reservations. Full payment is due the morning of the reservation.
