Taos is a family-owned and operated mountain that offers a little something for everyone - 1,200 acres of skiable terrain for all ability levels; smaller crowds and nonexistent lift lines make it easy to explore the entire mountain at any pace. In 2008 Outside Magazine ranked Taos the 3rd best mountain in terms of terrain and one of the top 15 resorts in North America. Taos also has long boasted one of the best ski/ride schools in North America!

 

Snowboarding:
On March 19, 2008 ("The Day Hell Froze Over") Taos officially dropped its long time ban on snowboarding. The transition, true to Taos form, was an immediate friendship between boarders and skiers with everyone embracing the laid back Taos vibe and hospitality. This monumental change has allowed the return of many families and groups that called Taos their home away from home in the 80's and 90's.
