Taos Ski Valley

Taos combines the lore of the European Alps with the charm and beauty of the Southwest, creating a world class ski/ride experience. World renowned terrain, amazing food, friendly people, beautiful weather, breathtaking scenery and some of the lightest powder you will ever experience has kept guests coming back for over 50 years. Taos is a family-owned and operated mountain that offers a little something for everyone - 1,200 acres of skiable terrain for all ability levels; smaller crowds and nonexistent lift lines make it easy to explore the entire mountain at any pace. In 2008 Outside Magazine ranked Taos the 3rd best mountain in terms of terrain and one of the top 15 resorts in North America. Taos also has long boasted one of the best ski/ride schools in North America featuring their world famous $90 ski/ride weeks throughout January!

Snowboarding

On March 19, 2008 ("The Day Hell Froze Over") Taos officially dropped its long time ban on snowboarding. The transition, true to Taos form, was an immediate friendship between boarders and skiers with everyone embracing the laid back Taos vibe and hospitality. This monumental change has allowed the return of many families and groups that called Taos their home away from home in the 80's and 90's.

In addition to allowing snowboarding Taos has added new terrain for skiers and boarders of all levels. The Burrows is a brand new beginner's slope located at the base of the mountain featuring 400ft of the flattest terrain Taos has to offer. North American is a new Double Diamond Glade that parallels between Al's Run and Longhorn. The Out-to-Launch Terrain Park has been doubled in size with new rail features, jumps ranging from 10 feet to 60 feet, a wall ride and a devoted lift for continuous laps!

Recent area improvements include their "Out-to-Launch" Terrain Park, Teen Center, and regularly scheduled evening activities.

The Ernie Blake Ski School is consistently voted the best in the country and will have your children and young adults enjoying the mountain right from the start.

The tubing hill is open every Wednesday through Saturday evening from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. They supply the tubes, you supply the laughs. The $7 fee allows unlimited rides each night.

The Teen Center provides video games, couches, a TV, and vending machines with snacks and drinks. This is truly a place the kids can call their own to play games or just hang out. The Teen Center is open from 11:00am to 8:00pm seven days a week.

NASTAR® race course is where you can all show off your skills. Located underneath Lift #7, TSV offers coin-op racing on NASTAR® dual racecourses from 10:00am to 3:00pm Wednesday through Sunday, weather permitting. Race information and registration is available at the Ski School desk.
