El Moro Spirits & Tavern was created in the building that once housed the El Moro Saloon in the early 1900's. The food is modern-rustic: common foods from the early 20th century created with modern culinary techniques. Handcrafted cocktails, an extensive beer list and forty wines, all approachable & affordable, grace the beverage menu, as well as an impressive floor-to-ceiling bar. The decor reflects that of the early 20th century, with a modern twist. You'll find authentic photos on the walls, of the folks who frequented the tavern during the early 1900's. Enjoy drinks and unique small plates, such as sausage and cheese grits, and the best Cuban sandwich around. You can even buy a round of drinks for the kitchen staff (although they won't drink while working!) El Moro is one of the newest restaurants to open in Durango, and has quickly become a locals' favorite.
