durango fall colorsThis weekend, the fall colors will most likely be peaking in Silverton, CO.  I’m super excited to ride the train with my family to soak in nature’s splendor!  Even after living here for over 12 years, I continue to be awestruck by the beauty in the Four Corners area.  Not only are the views breathtaking  in every direction, but the many activities for families and outdoor enthusiasts keep us active and excited about life!

Last weekend, our good friends from back East came to visit!  Friday night was spent catching up at our favorite restaurant, El Moro, followed by window shopping at the quaint shops and art galleries on Main Avenue.  There’s so much to do here!  Then we joined them on the balcony of their hotel for an evening cocktail.

Saturday morning, our friends toured Mesa Verde, and they were amazed by the history of the area and the incredible ruins.  After lunch, they  rented bikes and joined us on the river trail!  We parked our bikes at the Durango Discovery Museum to relax and enjoy a beverage while the kids played and explored.  After a lovely dinner in town, we drove out to Trimble Hot Springs for a sunset soak and massage.  The perfect ending to a perfect day!

The next morning, our friends treated themselves to a Hot Air Balloon ride in the Animas Valley.  They loved it and raved that they could now cross that off their ‘bucket list.’

We always love to share this incredible part of the country with family and friends who visit us during this beautiful time of year.  Their visit to Durango was also another reminder that we are truly fortunate to actually live here!
