The ski area is located along the Continental Divide in the Sawatch Range of the San Isabel National Forest in Colorado, and has been in operation since 1939.  Monarch offers a friendly atmosphere with small-town charm, and a variety of terrain that appeals to skiers and snowboarders of any level.
