Living here in Durango, we don’t really need to go anywhere for Spring Break!  It’s all right here in our own backyard.  I’m planning a week for my family that we’ll never forget!

First, I reserved a hotel for us right in downtown Durango, with an indoor pool for the kids and a hot tub for us parents!  Plus, we’ll be within walking distance of all the great restaurants and nightlife in Durango.

On the first day of our Spring Break adventure, we’re going skiing at Durango Mountain Resort!  Conditions have been great this year, and the groomers are incredible!  Not to mention, the ski resort has great restaurants, shopping, and the tubing hill for the kids–and adults, too!

Since we’ll be sore and tired after a long day of skiing, we’ll head to Trimble Hot Springs for a nice, relaxing soak.

The next day, we’re doing the sleigh ride with Buck’s Livery!  We did this over Christmas holidays, and the kids loved it so much that we’re doing it again!  This ride is magical–a peaceful journey through the forest at the ski resort, and a must-do for families, or even couples on a romantic date!

enjoy winterDay three will be spent snowmobiling!  The ride takes off from the ski resort, and your awesome guide takes you places you can’t imagine.  You really feel like you’re on top of the world, and the views are indescribably breathtaking.  My children had a great time when we did this ride, and I really felt like a kid again on that powerful, fast machine!  What a blast!

The last day of our vacation will be a tour at Mesa Verde National Park!  The kids haven’t seen it yet, and will love climbing on the cliff dwellings and learning about some native American  history!

I’m so excited about this Spring Break.  If you need help planning a great Spring Break adventure for your family that you’ll always remember, call us at Gateway Reservations, and we can help you make memories, too!
