Wine and Rails Package

This entertaining package combines a ride through the scenic San Juan National Forest on the Durango and Silverton Railroad's Wine Train with discounted lodging. During your train ride, several wineries will offer samples and provide a little education about wines. At the Cascade Canyon stop, you will get off the train for two hours of sampling wine, enjoying a delicious buffet, enjoying live music, and more. Desserts and coffee will be served on your return trip back to Durango.

Trip Schedule:
Train departs Durango Depot: 10:00am
Train arrives Cascade Canyon: 12:10pm
Train departs Cascade Canyon: 2:30pm
Train arrives Durango Depot: 4:40 pm

Participating wineries include:
5680 (Paonia), Garrett Estates (Olathe/Montrose), 4 Leaves Winery (Durango), and Sutcliffe (Cortez).

Overview:
Passengers will board the Wine Train at the Durango Depot. Please be in your seats 30 minutes prior to the 10:00am departure.

Other activities include Trivia on the way up with prizes given out on the return trip. The train will arrive at Cascade around 12:10pm.

At 2:30pm, passengers will re-board the train where desserts and coffee will be served on the return trip to Durango.

Fares / Cars*:

Standard: $109 Open-Air Gondola (has roof) or the Closed Vintage Coach
Deluxe: $129 Rio Grande (open-air with roof)
First Class: $169 Nomad, Legacy, Prospector and Yankee Girl (all closed coaches)

*All fares subject to 7% historical preservation fee.

* Wine can be sampled but will not be available for purchase.
