As ski season fast approaches, we have families calling to plan their winter vacation and we’re reminded of the perks of booking ski-in, ski -out accommodations.
Three reasons we prefer to stay slope-side:
The flexible schedule:
Do you have an uncle who wants to be on the first chair and a cousin who can’t wake up before noon? No worries. Everyone can rendezvous when the time is right, but there’s no tension caused by schedule preferences when you can all hit the slopes at your own pace. And, some can ski out in the morning not return until they’re kicked off the slopes, while others can dip back in for a nap, a snack, or a cocktail (without having to worry about who’s hopping behind the wheel).
The views:
Yes, the mountains are spectacular, the slopes stunning. But even more fun is to watch other skiers right from your living room window.
The rates:
While slope-side accommodations may cost more per night, the opportunity to cook meals and make drinks at your own home-away-from-home saves money in the long run—resort food is especially pricey. Plus, it gives everyone more freedom to eat what they want, when they want.
