Living here in Durango, we don't really need to go anywhere for Spring Break! It's all right here in our own backyard. I'm planning a week for my family that we'll never forget! First, I reserved a hotel for us right in downtown Durango, with an indoor pool for the kids and a hot tub for us parents! Plus, we'll be within walking distance of all the great restaurants and nightlife in Durango. On the first day of our Spring Break adventure, we're going skiing at Durango Mountain Resort! This year for Christmas, I've decided to give my family the gift of memories! (After all, don't they have enough toys?) So I've decided to plan a surprise, mini vacation, right here at home in Durango! I've planned a great little getaway, in a nice hotel in downtown Durango, where the kids can enjoy the indoor pool, and we can soak our cares away in the hot tub! I'm also going to treat them to a fancy dinner at one of the many fine restaurants on Main Avenue. We might even catch a concert, or one of the many events…

If you're planning your trip before ski season, there's lots to do in the area to keep you entertained in the month of November! Soak your cares away at Trimble Hot Springs, and treat yourself to a massage while you're there. Take the short 30 minute drive to Ignacio to visit Sky Ute Casino and try your hand at the slots! And be sure to visit the Southern Ute Cultural Center and…

Doesn't this look refreshing? There is nothing like ending a hot summer day with a exhilarating raft trip on our famous and beautiful Animas River. My daughter and I hooked up with Durango Rivertrippers yesterday and had the best time ever. Our guide was very professional, knowledgeable, and funny. The family we rode with were visiting from Oklahoma and had not been to the mountains before, let alone on a river rafting trip. After learning I am a life-long local and work for Gateway Reservations, they had all kinds of questions on other activities they could enjoy while visiting our…
